Rewards for the Losers

I know, I may sound too harsh on this subject..
But I am really not happy at all after I read the news..

Our badminton player Chong Wei did well by sailing into the finals..
I was very proud of him at first, supporting him all the way
I thought he might have a small chance in defeating the extraordinary Lin Dan (he is super good)
However....
Did you see the match?
He was not giving his best.. It was bloody obvious..
If you disagree with me, I ask again... Did you see the match?
We lost in single digits (10 is counted as a single digit in my book)
We did not even had a chance..
It was not a good challenge or a fight at all..
It was not even worth watching..
I do not think he was even thinking of fighting for our country.. Not even the slightest..
He sucked real bad.. Seriously..

Why, did you ask?
Why didn't he perform at his best, or not at his usual standard?
Tch, so obvious..
Let me tell you what he got for losing like crap..
RM300, 000, as in cash and RM3, 000 per month (pension)
Datukship (courtesy of Guan Eng)
Get the picture?

I don't actually blame him..
Even I would have settled for the 300k...
I bet he already celebrated the night before the finals..
I bet he was thinking to himself
"Let me try my best to defeat Lin Dan, but its okay if I lose, I would get a lot of cash anyway"
Right?

We live in a twisted country..
We reward losers..
Even if we wanted to reward the athletes, please reward them after they give it their all...
Let them do their very best, then tell them
"Oh, we want to reward you for doing your best, here is 300k"
It is extremely different.. Its not the same..
Imagine before your big game, you would not even mind losing, cos, you're already rewarded..
How could anyone do their best if they think that 2nd is enough?
I know you all agree with me...
What the hell..

We will never get gold if this continues..
Our best badminton player is already rich..
He is better rewarded then the first place winner...
What will he play for then?
The love of the game? Bah, humbug..
